The city of Yangzhou has launched an advertising campaign across the country to hire 30 apprentices to be trained for the inheritance of the city’s century-old lacquer ware craftsmanship. The apprenticeship recruitment has been endorsed by the lacquer ware talent training project which is funded by China National Arts Fund. The apprentices will be trained systematically over a period of 110 days through one-on-one tutorials by the senior lacquer ware masters. Those qualified for the test will be included in the talent pool for the China National Arts Fund.
