Chinese actress Fan Bingbing won the Best Actress Award for her performance in the feature film "I am not Madame Bovary" at the Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival on Saturday night.
Directed by FengXiaogang, the film also won the Best Director award. Chinese actor Deng Chao won Best Actor Award for his performance in crime film "The Dead End".
Fan's win led many Chinese fans to call it the day of "three blessings" for her, since Saturday was also Fan's birthday, and she became engaged to her boyfriend, Li Chen, earlier that morning.
The film was critically-acclaimed among moviegoers, and has been nominated for Best Pictures and Best Actor in several major film festivals.
At the awards ceremony on Saturday, "Operation Mekong" was named best feature film. Deng Chao received Best Actor for the film "The Dead End."
Director FengXiaogang, after a gap of ten years, has won the golden Rooster award for best director once again.
Best Supporting Actor went to Yu Hewei for the film "I Am Not Madame Bovary," and Wang Qianyuan for the film "Saving Mr. Wu."
Wu Yanshu was awarded Best Supporting Actress for the film "Relocate."
Director Wen Zhang took home the Best Directorial Debut for his film "When Larry Met Mary."
Established in 1992, the Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival has been a prestigious film festival in Chinese mainland. It is held annually and tours different cities in China.
