East China’s Jiangsu province signed a framework agreement Thursday in Nanjing with north China’s Shanxi province.
Huang Lixin, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of Jiangsu, attended the signing ceremony and delivered a speech.
Ma Qiulin, vice governor of jiangsu, and Wang Yixin, vice governor of Shanxi, signed on the framework agreement.
Huang remarked that Jiangsu has earnestly implemented the decisions and deployment of the central government to practice new concepts of development to boost its economy, as is evidenced by the gradual expansion of the power market and the steady growth of the electricity demand.
She noted that Shanxi is an important energy base and old industrial base in China while Jiangsu is a large energy consumer, adding that the two provinces have strong complementarities in energy and have enjoyed a long history of friendly cooperation.
She hoped that both sides would implement the national requirements on energy strategy and deployment and maintain good cooperation momentum to enhance the strategic cooperation in the energy sector through the supply of electricity from Shanxi to Jiangsu and the launch of business endeavors in Shanxi by Jiangsu enterprises.
We should strive to build a new model of reciprocal development and make a new and greater contribution to the sustainable and healthy development of the economy and society in the two provinces, the senior leader said.
Wang Yixin said Shanxi has attached great importance to the energy strategy cooperation with Jiangsu, and the two provinces have maintained a close cooperation. Shanxi will step up its efforts for the supply of electricity from Shanxi to Jiangsu and expand the scale of cooperation for complimentary advantages and win-win cooperation.
