Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu province, convened and chaired an executive meeting of the provincial government on Monday.
The meeting elaborated on the draft version of the government work report, the report on the implementation of the national economic and social development plan in 2017, the plan for the national economic and social development in 2018, and the report on the implementation of the 2017 budget of Jiangsu province and the draft budget for 2018.
The meeting pointed out that this year is the beginning year for the implementation of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening up, according to a statement released after the meeting.
This year is also decisive for the overall construction of a well-off society, the implementation of the 13th five-year plan and the beginning year for a new government, the statement said.
It is of great significance to draw up the government work report, to plan the main tasks for the five-year goal and the overall work of the government in the next five years, according to the statement.
The revision and perfection of the government work report should fully implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress by adhering to the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and making in-depth implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions for Jiangsu’s work, according to the statement.
It is of vital importance to implement the decision-making policies of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and the CPC Provincial Committee so as to promote high quality development and maintain stability of the overall tone of work and taking the down-to-earth approaches, focus on the deployment, formulate precise and pragmatic measures and strive to make the report better in line with the reality of Jiangsu, the statement said.
It is a statutory and important duty for the provincial government to report its work to the Provincial People's Congress and solicit comments and suggestions for the revision and improvement of the report which will be delivered to the 1st plenary meeting of the 13th session of the Provincial People's Congress and the 1st meeting of the 12th session of the provincial CPPCC for deliberation, the statement said.
The participants basically agreed on the implementation of the national economic and social development plan in 2017, the plan for the national economic and social development in 2018, and the report on the implementation of the 2017 budget of Jiangsu province and the draft budget for 2018, according to the statement.
