The State Food and Drug Administration has launched its innovation service station under the medical device technical review center. The launch ceremony was held Tuesday morning in Nanjing. The establishment of the service station will not only enable Jiangsu medical equipment enterprises to advance the time for the review and approve service, shorten the time spent on formalities and speed up the availability of the products on the market but also help enterprises to be better informed of the relevant regulatory policies and promote the development of domestic medical equipment industry in Jiangsu. Jiangsu is a medical device powerhouse with 2375 manufacturing enterprises. In 2017, the total output value of the medical enterprises in Jiangsu exceeded 65 billion yuan. As of the beginning of 2018, the province had obtained approval from the State Food and Drug Administration for the third category of 21 innovative medical device products, all ranking among the top three in the country.
