The documentary Amazing China has become a blockbuster since it hit the big screen, with many shots about Wuxi City in Jiangsu Province.
Forging the backbones of China Bridge
The documentary begins with China Bridge, a part introducing many magnificent engineering projects such as the Hong Kong - Zhuhai -Macao Bridge, Zhoushan Xihoumen Bridge, and the Hangzhou Bay Sea-crossing Bridge. All were built by China Fasten Group (CFG) from Jiangyin. CFG has taken part in the construction of more than 800 bridges since the 1990s including big-span, highly difficult, world-class bridges in China and abroad such as the Izmit Bridge in Turkey, Halogaland Bridge in Norway, and Seoul Incheon Bridge in South Korea. It has made many breakthroughs in bridge construction globally.
Empower China’s “Eye on Heaven”
A Wuxi-based company provided high-precision cube corner reflectors for China’s FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope). All 2,500 devices with high precision are provided by Xiangjiang Photoelectric Instrument Co. Ltd. from Jiangyin. The device helps radio telescope to “zoom” and conduct precise data measurement during the tracking and monitoring process of FAST.
“Fuxing” bullet train full of Wuxi elements
The air conditioning system, integrated bathroom and the cooling equipment in the hauling system for China’s new bullet train “Fuxing” are manufactured by Wuxi Jinxin Group. The rubber seals in the car body components are mostly provided by Jiangyin Haida Co. Ltd., whose market share of latest bullet train products has reached 95 percent, with the previous bullet trains known as Hexie (Harmony) over 50 percent.
A Jiangyinn professional helped design the “Jiaolong”
“Jiaolong”, the symbol of China’s deep-sea exploration, was developed by China Ship Scientific Research Center located in Wuxi. Its deputy chief designer Hu Zhen is from Jiangyin.
