The Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka issued a reminder on march 19th, saying that Chinese citizens in Sri Lanka must continue to observe law and safety though Sri Lanka has lifted the state of emergency. According to Sri Lanka media reports, the Sri Lankan media reported that on the evening of March 17, Sri Lankan President Silicena signed an order announcing the immediate lifting of the country’s state of emergency that was put into place on March 6. At present, the situation in Sri Lanka is stable and social life has returned to normal. According to the data from the Ministry of Tourism of Sri Lanka, as February 2018, China had become Sri Lanka's largest source of tourists and occupied 15% of the country’s tourism market. The Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka reminds the Chinese citizens in Sri Lanka to remember the “safety first” principle by complying with the law in order to ensure a pleasant stay and personal safety.
