The emblem of the 2018 World Badminton Championships made debut Tuesday morning. The event will be held in Nanjing from July 30th to August 5th.
The contest organizing committee received a total of 187 entries for the design of the emblem from around the world.
The entry from the Nanjing Art Institute was finally selected.
The emblem adopts red and black color matching with the overall shape resembling that of badminton and part of the ball headband evolving into a graphic element of the city wall, symbolic of the regional culture of Nanjing. The feather tail has subtly blended Nanjing's initials NJ and the host year 2018 to vividly convey the sense of speed of badminton and Nanjing's profound history and humanistic atmosphere.
The 2018 World Badminton Championships consist of five singles matches for men's doubles, women's doubles, men's singles, women's singles and mixed doubles. 340 top badminton players from around the world will contest in 251 games in 7 days. Shi Yuqi, He Bingjiao and Gao Yujie, three badminton players from Jiangsu, will also join in the competition.
