East China’s Jiangsu Province has released its Teachers Education and Innovation Action Plan between 2018 and 2022 in a bid to provide strong guarantee for the high-level popularization of 15-year basic education and modernization of education.
According to the requirements of the plan, the province will reform the student enrollment and employment for teachers’ colleges by advancing the enrollment of test-takers applying for admission into teachers’ colleges and encouraging enrollment by large admission categories so that the students will be able to make their selections of majors after entering the universities and colleges.
At the same time, the province will actively explore the recommended employment system for outstanding graduates from teachers; colleges by tightening the access system.
In the future, secondary vocational schools, higher vocational and privately-run undergraduate colleges will not be allowed to enroll teacher trainees. By 2020, the province will complete the first round of accreditation for teacher professional qualification standards.
