The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Economic Daily News recently jointly published in Beijing the 16th Report on China's Urban Competitiveness after conducting comprehensive economic competitiveness of 294 cities in China and livable competitiveness and sustainable competitiveness of 289 cities in 2017. In a comparative study, Nanjing's three core indices all entered the top ten spots in the country. The report shows that Suzhou and Nanjing ranked eighth and ninth in China's comprehensive economic competitiveness index. Wuxi, Nantong, Nanjing and Zhenjiang were ranked among the top ten livable cities in China and Nanjing ranked the seventh among China's sustainable competitiveness indices.
