The Wuxi-based textile and garment giant, Hodo Group, signed a deal to partner with Chinese e-commerce giant, Suning, on smart retail, smart real estate and modern logistics at Suning's headquarters in Nanjing June 23.
The two corporations will also take the lead in helping the poor by contributing 50 million yuan ($7.8 million) each to the Jiangsu Private Enterprises Foundation for Targeted Poverty Alleviation.
Initiated by Zhou Haijiang, Zhang Jindong and other three other entrepreneurs, the foundation encourages private entrepreneurs in Jiangsu to support national targeted poverty alleviation projects.

In 2017, Hodo Group and Suning Holdings Group won the title of "Advanced Private Enterprise" for helping targeted poverty alleviation.
Suning debuted the model of "e-commerce poverty alleviation training shop" in China last year as the first private enterprise to sign the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement on National E-Commerce Poverty Alleviation in Rural Areas with the State Council Office of Poverty Alleviation.
Hodo and Suning will further broaden their areas of cooperation, creating a convenient shopping environment. The two sides decided to take Suning Plaza, Suning Hotels and Resorts, and Hodo Wanhua City as collaborative platforms to carry out an overall plan for businesses such as shopping centers, plazas and characteristic towns.
