A symposium in honor of the 91st anniversary of the Army Day was held Monday in Nanjing. Present at the symposium were Liu Yuejun, commander of the Eastern Theater, He Ping, political commissar of the Eastern Theater, Lou Qinjian, secretary of the provincial party committee and governor Wu Zhenglong.
On behalf of the provincial party committee, the provincial people's congress, the provincial government, the provincial CPPCC and the people of the province, Lou Qinjian expressed his congratulations and high respects to the servicemen and servicewomen in Jiangsu and extended his gratitude to the troops stationed in the province for their long-term support to Jiangsu.
He said that while strengthening the readiness for war, the troops stationed in Jiangsu have always carried forward the fine tradition of supporting the government and the people, and made important contributions to maintaining social stability and promoting local development, especially in disaster relief, emergency response, and major activities.
The mission of safeguarding such urgent and difficult risks is inseparable from the strong support of the troops stationed in the province and the military has lived up to the expectations of being the people’s army and serving the people with practical actions.
The CPC Provincial Chief stressed that we will thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, build a new mechanism for supporting the frontline work, and transform the resource potential of Jiangsu's economy, science, education and national defense into the driving force behind the province’s high-quality development and the modernization of the troops stationed in Jiangsu.
He also hoped that the military will continue to support Jiangsu's reform and development.
