Outstanding hi-tech projects from the 13 prefectural cities across the province showed up for the 6th Technology Entrepreneurship Competition that went underway Tuesday in Nanjing.
Compared with previous years, more products in this year's competition have displayed independent innovation while breakthroughs have been made in the previously bottlenecking products in the new materials industry such as hHigh-temperature sensors for detecting vehicle exhaust emissions, photoresists for use in the LCD industry, and new ultrafiltration membrane materials that enable paper mills to achieve zero discharge of wastewater.
Supporting policies such as science and technology funding, bank credit lines, and venture capital financing have attracted an increasingly large number of participating teams year by year.
In order to make the entrepreneurial service more extensive, this year's competition also set up an industry forum and entrepreneurship training camp for the first time to provide entrepreneurial guidance and other services for the participating teams.
Competitions in electronic information, new energy, energy conservation and environmental protection, Internet, and advanced manufacturing will be held when the new materials competition is over. Outstanding enterprises will participate in the 7th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition on behalf of Jiangsu Division.
