The Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee held a meeting last Friday on the implementation of the feedback by the central environmental inspection team and the promotion of high quality development by giving full play to the province’s role of being the junction of the Belt and Road initiative. The meeting was presided over by Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.
The implementation of the feedback by the central environmental inspection team is an important political task in the current and future period of the province and also a key measure to win the fight and battle against pollution and accelerate the improvement of the quality of the ecological environment, according to a statement released after the meeting.
In the process of building the Belt and Road junction, more efforts should be made to implement the requirements for high-quality development, promote the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, establish new development concepts, and focus on solving major projects, policy support, investment environment, and risks, and enhance control and safety guarantees so as to ensure the province’s development will rank at the forefront with more pragmatic measures and actual results, the statement said.
The province will seize the opportunity of the Belt and Road development as a meeting point, make active deployment and comprehensive planning, improve the work leadership mechanism, integrate resources more pragmatically and effectively so as to promote enterprises to go global and accelerate innovation and transformation, according to the statement.
The "Implementation Opinions on Promoting Urban Safety Development" was discussed at the meeting, stressing the need to accelerate the establishment of a comprehensive, all-round and systematic urban safety development system to create a productive and living environment for the people to live and work in peace and happiness, according to the statement.
The meeting urged the province to implement the Provisions on Preventing and Punishing Statistics Fraud and False Inspections, pointing out that we should thoroughly study the spirit of a series of important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the statistical work and ensure that the requirements of the Regulations are carried out in the province, the statement said.
Party committees at all levels must support and guarantee the people's congresses to exercise their powers according to law, make proper and effective supervision, and governments at all levels and the financial departments should strengthen their awareness of active supervision to ensure that the expenditure budgets and policies better reflect the decision-making and deployment of the CPC Central Committee, the statement said.
