The first joint meeting of the tourism association in the Yangtze River Delta was held in Suzhou. Leaders of the tourism associations, industry experts and representatives of tourism companies from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and Shanghai gathered in Suzhou to offer advice and suggestions for the construction of high-quality tourist destinations of world prominence and to plan a new future for tourism integration in the Yangtze River Delta.
The tourism associations from the three provincial level regions jointly issued the Suzhou Declaration at the meeting.
The Declaration proposes five consensuses, including the establishment of a coordinated development mechanism for tourism affairs in the Yangtze River Delta, strengthening the design and promotion of cross-regional tourism routes in the Yangtze River Delta, building a tourism development community in the Yangtze River Delta, establishing a tourism information sharing platform for the Yangtze River Delta, and accelerating the shared cultivation of tourism talents in the Yangtze River Delta.
At the same time, Suzhou High-tech Zone Culture and Tourism Group was officially unveiled at the meeting.
In recent years, with the acceleration of the integrated development in the Yangtze River Delta, the three provinces and one municipality have promoted increasingly close tourism exchanges. Last year, the four provincial level regions posted 3.16 trillion yuan of tourism revenue. The total tourism revenue of Jiangsu reached 1.16 trillion yuan last year, exceeding the benchmark of one trillion yuan for two consecutive years and accounting for more than 6% of the province's GDP.
With the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta designated as a national strategy, the tourism industry in the Yangtze River Delta has ushered in new development opportunities. The participants suggested that Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and Shanghai should seize this opportunity and jointly promote the high-quality development of tourism in the Yangtze River Delta.
In the future, the four provincial level regions can create the image of the overall urban agglomeration and a common tourism brand for the launch of more refined tourism programs centering on the unique tourism resources such as the Grand Canal Cultural Belt so as to make the Yangtze River Delta region a high-quality tourist destination of world fame.
