Wu Zhenglong, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and governor of Jiangsu, went on an inspection tour to Taizhou recently to extend festive greetings to the disadvantaged people, veteran CPC members, ex-servicemen and nursing home elders.
Wu Zhenglong paid a visit to a disadvantaged mother and her disease-ridden son. Showing great concern over the mother and son who fell into poverty due to illness, he demanded that local authorities should make arrangement for the son to get hospitalized for better treatment so that he can be employed and earn his own living.
He also comforted the mother and the child, saying that they should strengthen their confidence as life will become better and better under the care of the party committee and government. In the past years, China has made strong efforts in helping the rural poor suffering from illnesses. A survey shows more than 50 percent of impoverished residents in 10 Chinese provinces fell into poverty due to illnesses.
When visiting a low-income family, the governor asked the householder to take good care of the family and ensure that his grandson is well educated.
Wu paid a visit to the home of Wu Jianghong in Fuyang community and inquired about his illness. He hoped that Wu Jianghong would be optimistic and strong-willed and have faith in the future as the government has rolled out preferential policies and medical technology is getting more and more advanced.
The Governor later visited the home of Gao Shicai, a veteran CPC member and inquired about his family conditions. He said that it is our precious wealth that the veteran party members are loyal to the party, loyal to the people, and make selfless dedication.
Wu Zhenglong also visited a nursing home and a veteran soldiers’ home. He told the veteran soldiers that the Party and the government is much concerned with their life and local authorities will do their best to ensure a worry-free life in their later years so that military service can be one of the most dignified careers and veterans will have a higher sense of fulfillment and happiness.
Wu also extended his gratitude to the workers of the nursing home, the veteran soldiers’ home and the volunteers for the efforts they have made in sending the warmth of the party and the government to the hearts of the old people through warm and thoughtful service.
