The environment impact assessments of the first phases of Nanjing Metro Line 11 and Line 9 were respectively revealed to the public in January, signaling that the construction of the two metro lines will start soon.
In addition, Nanjing also plans to break ground four other lines - Line 6, second phase of Line 2, second phase of Line 10 and third phase of Line 3. The six metro lines measure 109 kilometers in total.
According to the public notice, the first phase of Line 11 is located on the north bank of the Yangtze River, connecting the central area of the Jiangbei New District, and the manufacturing base in Qiaolin. The 27-kilometer-long line is the north-south trunk line in the district.
The first phase of Line 9 connects Xinzhuang, Xiaguan and Central Hexi, and is the regional line in downtown Nanjing. The line is 19.7 kilometers long.
The 32.4 kilometer-long Line 6 connects the city center and sub-center of Xianlin District, and links the two major transportation hubs, the Nanjing South Railway Station and East long-distance Bus Station, forming an express way between the city center and the airport together with the airport express.
The second phase of Line 10 passes through Yuhuatai District, Qinhuai District and Jiangning District, with a total length of 13.9 kilometers.
At 9.7 kilometers long, the second phase of Line 4 starts from the Longjiang Station and ends at the Zhenzhuquan Station.
