562,000 college students graduated last year in Jiangsu province, a gain of 6000, according to the employment quality report for college graduates released by the provincial department of education on Sunday.
More college graduates with associate degrees were hired last year than those with bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
More college graduates majoring in engineering, management and sciences were hired than others.
330,000 of the college graduates found jobs in Jiangsu, accounting for 78% of the total that were hired during the period.
Of the college graduates hired in Jiangsu, 65.1% landed jobs in the southern part of the province. A relatively large proportion of the college graduates were hired in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Guangdong and Beijing.
TheYangtze River Delta region and the southern part of the province turned out to be the major destinations for the college graduates in their job-hunting endeavors.
Many college graduates were hired by manufacturing, information transmission, software and information technology services and education sectors, indicating the province’s highlight on manufacturing and software industries.
