Lianyungang Port has improved its service to facilitate vehicles export this year, such as setting up an information platform, speeding up inspection and making customs clearance convenient, Jiangsu media reported on April 4.
In the first quarter, the port handled 28 ro-ro ships and 12,147 vehicles and machinery for export, up 9,836 units or an increase of 425 percent year on year.
As Jiangsu Province moves to develop itself into an intersection of the “Belt and Road” initiative, Lianyungang has seized the opportunity and made efforts to build an international hub port. The goal has won strong support from leading companies including SAIC Motor, XCMG Group, Yutong Bus and Ankai Automobile. Products by companies including Caterpillar, King Long United Automotive, Foton Motor and Great Wall Motors were also exported from the port in small quantities but in many batches.
