Some 143 projects with an estimated investment of 4.96 billion yuan ($736.38 million) were included in the Taicang intelligent manufacturing project library in 2018, according to the 2019 Taicang Intelligent Manufacturing Conference held on April 23.
The Taicang intelligent manufacturing project library, one of the local government's attempts to support local intelligent manufacturing companies, makes it convenient for related institutes to offer follow-up services.
Among them, a total of 48 projects come from private companies with an estimated investment of 2.8 billion yuan, taking up 56 percent of the total planned investment.
At present, Taicang is home to 13 provincial intelligent workshops, 20 municipal intelligent workshops and three pilot companies to implement the management system integrating IT application with industrialization.
In the city, more than 400 private companies have cooperated with their German counterparts in intelligent manufacturing.
Over the recent years, Taicang municipal Party committee and municipal government have ramped up efforts to support the development of intelligent manufacturing.
They have established a special fund to support local companies' transformation to intelligent manufacturing businesses and offered consultation services to intelligent workshops.
In 2019, local government will continue targeting intelligent manufacturing by issuing more preferential policies and enhancing cooperation with German companies.
