These several days, a picture of a doctor operating and making ward rounds either resting one leg on a chair or walking on crutches goes viral on many Yancheng citizens’ Wechat. Attracting a lot of followers, this doctor in the picture won people’s exclamation and admiration, being praised as the doctor in the most beautiful operating posture.
The doctor is called Chen Shuhua. She has been working in department of gynecology and obstetrics for over 40 years and receives a lot of patients every day. This February, she accidentally sprained her ankle because she walked too fast.
Walking with difficulty, Chen keeps going to her work every day, operating and making rounds on different floors. She said she has to be there for her patients and wouldn’t let them down. Chen: “Most of the patients come here because they trust me and will feel disappointed if I’m not around. The other doctors will do the same for the patients.”
During the injury, Chen has been in the operation room for over 100 times, kneeling on a chair. The picture during an operation moved a lot of netizens to tears. Chen said that though she has sprained her ankle, her hands are still capable and could do the job perfectly. She is a doctor and does what a doctor is supposed to do.
