Leading experts from China and other countries were eager to share their suggestions for improving the medical and healthcare system in Jiangsu Province during an academic exchange held in Nanjing on May 21.
Fan Guoping, a native of Wuxi City and a professor at UCLA, focuses his research on molecular genetics and stem cell research and clinical application. Fan said he has established a good cooperation with Jiangsu People's Hospital and he is willing to collaborate with more Jiangsu medical and healthcare institutes, offering his assistance in areas like personnel training, academic exchange and project introduction.
Li Xiaosong, a native of Yangzhou’s Jiangdu District, is the Administrator at Georgia Regional Hospital Atlanta. He said the United States can serve as a good reference for Jiangsu as it promotes medical management innovation by technology and uses Big Data to assist disease prevention, government decision-making and medical risk management.
The keynote speechmakers in the meeting included Wang Guangji, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Wei Qingyi of Duke University School of Medicine, Professor Yang Wei of the University of Nevada, and Professor Zhu Meidong of the University of Sydney.
