Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, encouraged the children to make greater contribution to the construction of the motherland when growing up in reply to a letter by young pioneers of a primary school in Nanjing.
Most of the students in Nanjing Huagang First Primary School are from families of migrant workers. On May 29 last year, Lou Qinjian visited this primary school on an inspection tour, and was invited by the students to participate in a ceremony marking the students’ joining the Young Pioneers.
On May 6 this year, the young pioneers of the primary school wrote a letter to Lou to report on their growth and learning over the past year, expressing the determination to strengthen study and exercise and become good successors of the motherland.
Lou said in his reply dated May 28th that he was pleased to learn that they have grown up healthily and happily under the hard work of the teachers and have made new and gratifying progress in all aspects.
The CPC Provincial chief remarked that life will have direction and struggle only if people have lofty ideals and high goals, adding that as far as China is concerned, this dream is the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, which is the dreams of many Chinese people and requires everyone to work hard for its materialization.
He thanked the parents of the students who have left their hometowns to work in Nanjing for the construction of the motherland, adding that he is gratified that the school has created good environment for the children’s study and growing-up.
Lou hoped that the students will always have a grateful heart, be filial to their parents, respect their teachers, study hard and work diligently to return the family and repay the society. As long as each of us remembers where we are from, always adheres to positive energy, and gain a good command of every step of our lives, our country and society will get better and better.
Before concluding the letter, Lou Qinjian wished the children a happy International Children’s Day.
