Nanjing City has six metro lines totaling 130 kilometers long now under construction, Jiangsu media reported on May 29.
In the next five years, Nanjing Metro lines will cover over 600 kilometers while various new technologies, such as autonomous driving and integrated interchange station, will be increasingly applied to enhance the construction quality and also make the metro service smart.
Nanjing boasts a rapid transit system serving the urban and suburban districts. As the Nanjing-Lishui line opened on June 26, 2018, the city became the first in China to make rail transit available in all its administrative areas.
