The Youth Olympic Park Bridge in Nanjing was awarded the Golden Prize of the World Footbridge Award for 2018 at the World Transportation Conference held in Beijing recently. Designed by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Southeast University，the Youth Olympic Park Bridge is the supporting project of the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games. The 150-meter-long bridge uses a three-span space to twist the steel truss structure. The undulating curve is like the waves on the Yangtze River to contrast with the artistic conception of the Yangtze River of the nearby venues. The bridge was honored with the award due to its unique original styling, harmony between power and beauty, and the use of BIM technology.
The World Footbridge Award is an award launched by the World Transportation Conference. The honor goes to a total of 6 projects this year.
