Jade, blue and white porcelain from ancient kingdoms on display

he Museum of Suzhou will put on display refined jade and blue and white porcelain from the ancient kingdoms of Wu and Chu, according to a press release held on Monday.


A dragon-shaped jade ornament of cloud-ray pattern, unearthed in Shaoxing city, Zhejiang province, is extremely rare and unique as it is lifelike with the tongue-splitting dragon flying above the clouds.

Two other dragon-shaped jade ornaments were unearthed in Hubei and Suzhou. Nearly 200 pieces of jade articles from the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period were put on display to enable the visitors learn about the cultural traits and the integration of the State of Wu and the State of Chu.


Nearly 300 pieces of jade and primitive porcelain are to be exhibited at the courtesy of 13 museums from Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei and Suzhou.

The exhibition will last three months.
