Tech projects from Suzhou New District shortlisted

  Four technological projects from Suzhou New District in Jiangsu province have been shortlisted for funding in the provincial research and development plan for 2019, according to a recent announcement by the Science Technology Department of Jiangsu Province.

  Tech projects on the list that are approved are expected to receive a maximum of 2 million yuan ($289,000) in scientific research funding and projects vying for the plan will receive up to 1.2 million yuan in scientific research financial outlays.

  Among the four projects is a robot system for limb fracture treatment from the Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, which is affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

  The other projects comprise a wavelength division multiplexer from Suzhou GL Foresight Electronic Technology Co and more two tech projects from Suzhou Jingjun Tech Co and Nuoyi Maier (Suzhou) Medical Technology Co.

  From 2016 to 2018, a total of 12 projects from Suzhou New District were approved by provincial science technology department and they received 15.54 million yuan in financial support. The projects mainly involved electronic information, high-end equipment, new energy and new materials, according to a spokesman for the district's technological innovation bureau.
