Dietfurt, a small town in Germany's Bavaria state, is known as "China in Bavaria" for love of Chinese culture. The town's "Chinese Carnival”, held in early summer, has become one of the most important festivals of this area.
The latest edition of the carnival started on June 29. As a major part of the celebration, a Nanjing delegation of artists gave a special performance at 6:30 pm local time, showcasing the profound Chinese culture to the town’s residents.
The performance was the eighth time that the Nanjing Cultural and Tourism Bureau organized a delegation to participate in festivals, also the first time to stage a show abroad.
Carolin Braun, mayor of Dietfurt, expressed thanks to Nanjing for promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two places. She hopes both sides can deepen cooperation and exchanges in tourism in the future.
