The Jiangyin Maritime Safety Administration recently began to carry out patrols through the use of drones so as to strengthen safety supervision and ensure the safety of ships with the help of the information technology.
In a recent case, the drone found that a small ship was sailing in the reverse direction to the oncoming ships with the possibility of a collision.
The law enforcement agents soon responded to the violation of law by setting right the direction of the ship and shooting photos for evidence. They also searched the intranet to confirm the ownership of the ship before ordering through a phone call the ship to correct its veered direction.
Jiangyin Maritime Safety Administration has joined hands with the transportation and water conservancy departments to explore the mode of integrated river-sea supervision by setting off drones for regular patrol. Up to now, 35 violations have been investigated.
