General Secretary Xi Jinping made a series of strategic arrangements for economic work in his important speech at the fifth meeting of the Central Committee of Finance and Economics, which is of great significance for the domestic and international environmental changes and for grasping China's high-quality development, according to a statement released after the meeting.
Greater efforts should be made to resolve the unreasonable regional economic layout, the weak industrial base capacity, and the insufficient industrial chain control so as to accelerate the construction of a high-quality development of the power system, achieve stable economic and social development with high-quality development, and make due contributions to China's overall development, the statement said.
