East China’s Jiangsu province reported steady foreign trade growth in the first three quarters of this year, latest statistics show.
According to statistics from Nanjing Customs, the import and export of foreign trade from January to September was 3,210.61 billion yuan, a slight increase of 0.02% compared with the same period of last year, accounting for 14% of China's total import and export value during the same period.
Jiangsu's exports reached 2012.94 billion yuan and imports reached 1,197.67 billion yuan. On the basis of overall stability, the structure of foreign trade is also constantly optimized.
The increase of general trade with higher added value surged to 5.2% year on year, standing for a year-on-year growth of 51.7% against the province’sentire trade growth during the period.
Jiangsu has steadily increased its import and export volume with traditional trading partners such as the European Union, ASEAN and Japan.At the same time, its import and export with the Belt and Road countries increased to 728 billion yuan, an increase of 9.1% year on year and accounting for 24.4% of Jiangsu's total foreign trade. The trade volume between Jiangsu and Vietnam, the Philippines and Russia increased by 20.6%, 32% and 17.8% respectively.
Private enterprises maintained a relatively fast growth in import and export volume, with import and export volume reaching 999.33 billion yuan, an increase of 9.4%.
