Fan Jinlong meets with ambassadors from Southern African Development Community

Fan Jinlong, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and executive deputy governor, met Monday in Nanjing with the Ambassador of the Southern African Development Community to China led by Mblelwa Kairuki, Tanzanian Ambassador to China.

  On behalf of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, Fan Jinlong expressed his welcome to the delegation of the SADC ambassadors to China.

  He said that Jiangsu has always attached importance to exchanges and cooperation with Africa, will conscientiously implement the 2018 China-Africa Cooperation Forum consensus, share development opportunities with SADC member countries, and close friendly city exchanges, and continuously expand cooperation in trade and investment, agricultural sanitation, education and sports, and culture, tourism and other fields so as to contribute to the promotion of China-Africa friendship and the cooperation and the creation of a new era of the China-Africa destiny community.

  Kairuki said that SADC will vigorously promote the close cooperation and exchanges between the member states of the SADC and Jiangsu to achieve mutual benefit and common development so as to let the friendship between China and Africa be passed down from generation to generation.

  The Southern Africa Development Community, SADC for short, is an inter-governmental organization that promotes economic growth, as well as peace, security, and poverty alleviation, within the region. Its members include Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
