The Jiangsu-Southern Africa Investment and Development High-Level Forum was held in Nanjing on Monday. About 300 diplomats from the Southern Africa Development Community countries, entrepreneurs from Jiangsu and celebrities participated in the forum that is themed on win-win cooperation and building a closer community of shared future for China and Africa.
As an important part of the 2019 Yangtze River International Forum, this forum saw exchanges and dialogues between the Southern African Development Community countries and enterprises in Jiangsu that have launched or intend to engage in investment in Africa.
The forum is focused on international economic and trade exchanges and deep integration of industries in a bid to help both sides to seek investment and development opportunities and international cooperation in the fields of industrialization, tourism and service, infrastructure construction, extractive industries, manufacturing, modern agriculture and marine economy.
The Southern African Development Community is a regional organization with a high level of economic integration in Africa and currently has 15 member states.
As of the end of September this year, Jiangsu has launched 192 investment projects in the Southern African Development Community countries, with indirect investment of US$1.9 billion. Jiangsu-based enterprises have cooperated with the SDAC countries in power and photovoltaic projects, established a provincial-level overseas economic and trade cooperation industrial park that has settled five enterprises.
