A makeshift hospital replicating Beijing's SARS treatment model was put into use in the battle against novel coronavirus in Suzhou City on the afternoon of February 11.
The temporary facility, similar to the rapidly-built Huoshenshan (Fire God Mountain) Hospital in Wuhan, will work as the isolation and quarantine ward of the Fifth People's Hospital of Suzhou, specially for patients infected with the novel coronavirus.
Suzhou First Building Group, the builder, completed the construction of the in 9 days with a crew of 300 workers working around the clock.
In the first stage, the 100-bed hospital and auxiliary logistics center cover a floor area of 4,600 square meters. The facility will be expanded in steps to have 500 beds in the end.
