Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Chief, wrote a letter to the doctors and nurses Jiangsu sent to aid epidemic control in central China’s Hubei Province. Jiangsu has sent 2497 doctors and nurses, the largest number of the medical teams sent by all the provincial-level regions, to help contain the novel coronavirus epidemic in Wuhan and Huangshi, two hardest-hit cities in Hubei. The letter reads as follows:

Dear doctors and nurses,
Our country is going through a war without smoke. The country is in dire straits and Jiangsu people have always been courageous to charge forward.
In the battle against the epidemic, you have actively responded to the call of the Party Central Committee and stood firmly with the people of Hubei. From the beginning of the first lunar month, you have been supporting Hubei in batches and fighting at the forefront of epidemic prevention and control.
In a critical moment, everyone who adheres to his post is a hero. Compared with your previous experience, the mission to support Hubei may be the most urgent, hardest and most dangerous one. We know that before the departure, some of you were on your honeymoon, some others were attending to your parents that had been hospitalized and still some others were taking care of your children.
However, when the order was issued, everyone stepped forward immediately, completed the registration and team formation within an hour, and set off for Hubei within one day, reflecting the medical workers’ noble professional ethics, the Communist Party members’ strong responsibility and their dedication to the country.
I have been following the daily news reports and learn about your work in Hubei through various channels. You started to rescue the infected patients as soon as you arrived in Hubei. You have taken turns to work day and night and raced against the time to beat the disease. Party members rushed to the front, and many comrades submitted applications to join the party, which are all comforting and moving. You are holding on silently by faith and will against the hardships. You are the heroes in this battle, and our most respectable and dear ones! Here, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, I pay tribute to you, thank the families who support you, and also congratulate the comrades who have joined the party!
General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that the Chinese nation has come out of hardships and struggles. China has the confidence, ability, and confidence to win the battle to prevent and control the epidemic. Our confidence and ability come from the great superiority of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics.
