Scenic spots in Wuxi will be reopened to the public in waves starting Feb 21, as the coronavirus epidemic shows signs of slowing down, according to officials.

The first eight scenic spots reopened on Friday; they included Lingshan Scenic Area, Yuantouzhu Scenic Area (Turtle Head Isle), the Three Kingdom City and the Shuihu City, Yangshan Peach Blossom Scenic Area, Xinzhou Ecological Park, Jiangyin Ebizui Park, Sea of bamboo in Yixing and Yixing Longbeishan Forest Park.

To ensure the safety of visitors, the number of people allowed to enter the parks at any given time will be limited. Also, visitors are required to produce a "green pass," (a green QR code which allows its holders to travel across Wuxi without worrying about coronavirus-related traffic restrictions) have their temperature taken at the entrance, and wear masks at all times.

Due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, Wuxi closed all of its tourist attractions on Jan 24.

According to Lingshan Scenic Area, the ticket price will be reduced to 160 yuan ($22.7) per person, as some indoor palaces and mansions will remain closed temporarily.

Yuantouzhu Scenic Area will limit the number of visitors to less than 50 percent of its passenger capacity and open the Chongshan gate only. It will open from 8 am to 4 pm.

Visitors should book tickets online using their real names. Those who have tourism cards or are able to enjoy free visits can visit with the relevant documents.
