Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, went on an inspection tour in Yancheng city from Wednesday to Thursday to learn about the promotion of epidemic control and the progress of resumption of work.
During his visit to Xuwei new area, Lou Qinjian inspected the construction sites of Sinochem's high-end fine chemicals, comprehensive utilization of satellite petrochemical ethylene, and integrated project of Shenghong refining and chemical.
Lou Qinjian spoke highly of Lianyungang's efforts to boost development confidence by grasping the construction of major projects, and hoped that Lianyungang will further attract more high-quality projects around the construction of a leading industrial system, promote the early completion of the projects under construction, and provide potential support for long-term development.
He emphasized that entrepreneurs work hard from the market and are a valuable asset. They should pay more attention to their love and support, fully mobilize their enthusiasm, initiative and creativity, so that they can pursue their dreams and show their skills in the progress of the times.
At the Safety and Environmental Protection Management Center of the Xuwei New Area Petrochemical Base, Lou Qinjian inspected the safety monitoring command system and greeted the members of the Xuwer New Area Emergency Rescue Brigade.
The CPC Provincial chief stressed that intrinsic safety should be taken as the lifeline of the construction of petrochemical bases and efforts should be made to adhere to multiple-pronged measures such as planning and design, industrial cycle and infrastructure construction, implement safety production requirements, carry out rescue relief efforts at the national level, park level and enterprise level and comprehensively improve emergency handling capabilities and professional combat capabilities.
Lou Qinjian inspected the site of the comprehensive utilization project of recycled water in the petrochemical base, and emphasized that it is necessary to adhere to advanced standards, strengthen the recycling of sewage and solid waste, and work towards the goal of zero emissions.
The port and shipping service area of Lianyungang Free Trade Zone has a designed throughput of nearly 50 million tons. Last year, its container throughput reached 4.78 million TEUs.
Noting that the construction of the free trade zone is a major task given to Lianyungang by the country, Lou Qinjian asked the city to further broaden its horizons, innovative ideas, make bold efforts for reforms, promote trade facilitation, give full play to the advantages of port and rail transport, integrate more resources, and improve the level of planning and construction so as to build the port into a modern port with the characteristics of Lianyungang and of international level.
Lou Qinjian inspected Kanion Pharmaceutical's TCM production smart factory, and spoke highly of the company's innovative Chinese medicine R&D and industrialization practices and its contribution to fighting the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic.
He said that China is facing new opportunities in the development of Chinese medicine. To this end, new technology such as big data and cloud computing must be fully used to promote the standardization, modernization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine so as to better develop and expand enterprises and benefit human health.
When inspecting the China Pharmaceutical Zone, Lou Qinjian noted that Lianyungang has the industrial foundation and innovation advantages for the development of a world-renowned pharmaceutical industry highland.
He asked Lianyungang to accelerate the implementation of good planning ideas and give full play to the leadership role of leading enterprises so as to jointly build a shared public service platform, create a good industrial innovation ecosystem, incubate and cultivate and introduce more innovative enterprises, and turn the blueprint of the pharmaceutical zone into a reality as soon as possible.
The CPC provincial chief also visited the rural resettlement communities in Lianyungang.
Lou Qinjian said that Lianyungang has made more vigorous and significant progress in rural housing improvement over the past year.
He hoped more efforts will be made to further promote the revitalization of rural areas and the reconstruction of urban-rural relations, enhance political stance, promote employment and public services, improve the overall level of development, and achieve sustainable rural prosperity.
During the inspection tour, Lou Qinjian spoke highly of Lianyungang's achievements in preventing and controlling the epidemic and the resumption of work. He asked Lianyungang to make full use of the multiple opportunities from the national strategies such as the "Belt and Road", the Pilot Free Trade Zone, the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and coastal development.
He hoped that Lianyungang will give full play to its unique advantages of the mountains and the sea, promote the planning and construction from a high starting point and build a modern industrial city and a tourist city.
