East China’s Jiangsu province has given full play to intelligent manufacturing amid the outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia or COVID-19 to switch production and restore production capacity in a bid to support the epidemic prevention and control at home and abroad.
In 2016, FXCM Textile launched intelligent manufacturing model application projects under the funding of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The intelligent workshops were technically upgraded at the end of 2019 so that the company was able to reduce the losses caused by the sharp drop in export orders due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
In recent years, Jiangsu has continued to promote the intelligent transformation of enterprises by cultivating 1,055 provincial-level intelligent manufacturing workshops and 30 intelligent manufacturing factories.
Xuzhou Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. launched a remote operation and maintenance service platform for heavy machinery products, and carried out fault prediction based on big data and intelligent equipment health management, including precise positioning, remote control, and remote fault diagnosis. The company was able to support the construction of anti-epidemic facilities such as the Huoshenshan Hospital and Leishenshan Hospital in Wuhan.
Compared with traditional factories, intelligent factories can reduce manpower by about 35% but improve the efficiency by about 30%.
Intelligent manufacturing has enabled highly digitalized management and made product quality more stable so as to enhance risk-resistant ability.
In 2020, Jiangsu will launch 232 intelligent manufacturing projects by injecting 412.6 billion yuan of investment in total.
