SIP launched the 2020 Sex Education for Children program on July 14 in a move to help local children aged 10 and below learn about a broad variety of topics related to sex and sexuality such as gender equality and methods of protecting themselves from sex harassment and abuse.
The program is an extension of the one that SIP Working Committee on Women initiated in 2018 for sex education among children aged six and below. It consists of lectures to be given to about 1,000 enterprise employees’ families and kids at 105 kindergartens across SIP, and a project of setting up libraries of picture books on related topics in 45 communities.
It is worth mentioning that a set of courses specially developed for sex education among children aged 7 to 10 will be piloted at a local primary school, and courses tailored for kindergartens and families with young children will be provided online for the first time.
