Zhao Xuelin is a Nanjing citizen. His 97 years old mother suffers from Alzheimer's disease and needs 24-hour care from the family. Before receiving "family care training," Zhao and his mother often had conflicts because they did not know how to communicate with each other. On February 17, Zhao’s mother accidentally had a fall and she bled a lot from her head.
Free "family care training" was piloted in Nanjing from the second half of 2020. It was invited by civil affairs departments and provided by qualified third-party agencies. So far, more than 400 family members have received training.
Generally speaking, hypertension and stroke are common accidents with the elderly. If the family members grasp the methods of identification and perform first aid correctly, the survival rate of the elderly can be greatly improved.
