After a sunny and warm week, a new round of temperature-dropping and rain-falling days will come to Suzhou. It’s sunny this morning and the highest temperature in the daytime reached around 25℃. But the fine weather won’t last as showers and thunders are right on the way.
There will be frequent occurrence of thundershowers in Suzhou this week. The rainfall will increase in the areas to the south of the Yangtze River starting tomorrow (March 30). Before the end of this month, there will be continuous moderate and heavy rains and some places will see downpours and large-scale thunder and lightning.
It may not rain so hard in Suzhou, but the city will inevitably see an unbroken spell of wet weather. The rain is expected to fall tonight and from the night of March 30 to April 3. It will be cloudy with scattered showers or thundershowers tonight and from March 31 to April 1 or 2; the rainfall will be moderate and the rainy weather will last until the night of April 2.
As the Qingming Festival (or Tomb Sweeping Day, which falls on April 4 this year) is approaching, the weather will exactly match the depiction of the line from Du Mu’s poem: The rain falls thick and fast on the day of Qingming.
Besides, there will be two sharp temperature drops this week: the temperature will first slump by 7℃, then soar by 8℃and plummet again by 8℃.
With the temperatures fluctuating greatly, remember to put on a coat to keep yourself from catching a cold, take an umbrella with you and be careful when going out.
