East China’s Jiangsu province held a meeting on Monday to convey and study the important speeches made by Premier Li Keqiang when going on an inspection tour in Jiangsu and presiding over a symposium Thursday in Nanjing on the performance of the economy via video link with governors from five provinces.
Premier Li Keqiang’s inspection tour in Jiangsu shortly after the conclusion of the annual two session and the symposium on the performance of the economy via video link demonstrates the great attention and concern of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on Jiangsu's work, said a statement released after the meeting.
Efforts must be made to transform the expectations of the Party Central Committee and the State Council into a powerful driving force, take on the ballast of economic development, and make greater contributions to the steady and healthy development of the national economy, the statement said.
As an economic powerhouse, Jiangsu should make greater contribution to the ensuring stability on the six fronts and security in the six areas by giving better play to the role of the market players and continue to streamline government reform and delegate administrative approval powers to lower-level governments, said the statement.
The stability on the six fronts means keeping employment, the financial sector, foreign trade, foreign and domestic investments, and expectations stable.
The security in the six areas means ensuring security employment, basic living needs, operations of market entities, food and energy security, stable industrial and supply chains, and the normal functioning of primary-level governments.
It is urged that more efforts should be made to resolve and defuse various kinds of risks and challenges, take the initiative in economic development and enhance the adjustment in the efficiency and pace of development, the statement said.
We must go all out to seize the opportunity to deepen the reform and opening up of the service industryin accordance with the policies and decisions of the central government, further optimize the allocation of service industry resources, promote the integration of international and domestic service standards, continue to optimize the open development environment of the service industry, continuously meet the industrial transformation and people's needs for a better life, and make every effort to strengthen Jiangsu's advantages in high-quality development, the statement said.
