East China’s Jiangsu province has released a three-year action plan to promote the capacity for logistics services in the urban and rural areas, the provincial department of transport said recently.
Express delivery service stations are basically located at the township level due to the relatively small amount of delivery business in the rural areas.
The three-year action plan has demanded that rural logistics services should be upgraded to ensure that farmers will have easy reach to express delivery services.
At least 1000 rural express delivery routes will be launched by the end of 2023.
Jiangsu will also establish or renovate at least 100 township and 1000 rural logistics service stations that incorporates passenger and cargo transport service and postal service.
In the meantime, Jiangsu will encourage local e-commerce dealers to join hands with express delivery providers to promote co-sharing services in express delivery and farm produce sales.
