Efforts should be made to implement the spirit of the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the 20th Academician Conference of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the 15th Academician Conference of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the 10th National Congress of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, grasp the general trend of technological innovation and development, and accelerate the construction of a scientific and technological powerhouse in Jiangsu, said the statement.
Measures should be taken to improve Jiangsu's position in the national science and technology innovation system, focus on cutting-edge technologies, strengthen basic research and original innovation, strengthen the innovation chain and industrial chain, and accelerate the construction of an industrial science and technology innovation center with global influence, the statement said.
More efforts are needed to implement the decisions of the Yangtze River Delta Integrated Development Leading Group Meeting and the Yangtze River Delta Region Leadership Forum, seize the opportunities, take the initiative, and give a strong footing to the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, according to the statement.
We must work hard to study and implement the spirit of the fourth meeting of the Central Committee on the Rule of Law, make in-depth study and implementation of the Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, promote the key tasks of the construction of the rule of law in Jiangsu, strengthen the political responsibility for the comprehensive rule of law in the province, and ensure a good start and provide effective legal protection for the "14th Five-Year Plan", said the statement.
The meeting also called for further efforts to strengthen the party history learning and education campaign and study General Secretary Xi Jinping’s letter of reply to the students from the Xin'an Primary School of Huai’an city to wish children all over the country a happy International Children's Day. Xin'an Primary School was founded in 1929 by Tao Xingzhi, a teacher acclaimed as the people’s educator. In 1935, the school's teachers and students formed the children's revolutionary group Xin'an Touring Troupe to publicize the awareness of resisting Japanese aggression for national salvation. They experienced the exercise and test of blood and fire when traveling throughout most of China. They were praised by proletarian revolutionaries such as Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai.
