2月6日上午,“江苏—纽约青年人文交流项目——光启青年学者项目”2020年度网络研讨会在线上成功举行,来自江苏、纽约两地三所学校的师生及校友近百人在线参与。江苏省外办副主任刘建东、纽约州州长办公室亚裔事务主任孙雯共同出席并致辞。
The Ricci Young Scholars Program Webinar 2020 was successfully held on Feb. 6. The Webinar was participated by nearly 100 attendees from Jiangsu and New York, mostly faculty, students families and alumni of Regis High School and Dominican Academy from New York City, and Nanjing Foreign Language School. Among them were Liu Jiandong, Deputy Director-General of Jiangsu Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, and Linda Sun Wen, Director of Asian American Affairs, Office of Governor of New York.
刘建东代表江苏省外办向此次网络研讨会的成功举办表示祝贺。他说,非常高兴与江苏、纽约两地众多青年才俊通过网络平台共聚一堂,同学们的发言充满活力、精彩纷呈,令人印象深刻。2020年,参与项目的中美师生克服重重困难,围绕政治、文化、新媒体等热点议题成功进行了为期半年的线上交流,架设起一座“云交流”的友谊桥梁。希望项目各方2021年继续携手努力,为两地青年对话交流和互学互鉴搭建平台。
Liu Jiandong said he was delighted to meet the young talents on the virtual platform. The faculty and students on both sides made the program a unique and productive one by overcoming tremendous difficulties imposed by COVID-19, symbolizing a bridge on the cloud. He also expected that all the participated partners can make this a continued success.
孙雯表示,很高兴代表纽约州州长科莫出席此次活动。同学们聚焦热点话题,表现非常精彩。期待项目越办越好,促进两省州友好交往。
On Behalf of New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, Sun Wen expressed the joy of joining in the event as great conversations made over the discussions, and hoped that the program could add to the friendly ties between Jiangsu and New York.
江苏—纽约青年人文交流项目系2019年江苏—纽约结好30周年庆祝活动见证签约的青少年交流项目,旨在为江苏、纽约两省州优秀青年搭建对话交流桥梁。
The Ricci Young Scholars Program was initiated as a special program of youth exchange dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of Jiangsu-New York sister state friendship. It aims to build a bridge that links the future generation of young students from Jiangsu and New York.
美国华夏人文基金会会同纽约州瑞吉斯高中、多米尼加高中和江苏省南京外国语学校甄选优秀学生参与项目,展现出新时代两地青年朝气蓬勃、互学互鉴、团结协作的风采。
In the hope of promoting mutual learning and cooperation across regions and cultures, 29 students from Regis High School and Dominican Academy from New York City, and Nanjing Foreign Language School were recommended to be the first cohort of 2020 Ricci Young Scholars.
