Starting on June 25, 1258 sets of trains will be added in the Yangtze River Delta in a bid to increase the passenger transport capacity to cope with the rising flows in the summer time.
93 sets of train will be running between cities in the Yangtze River Delta and Beijing South Railway Station, compared with 86 sets presently. The number of Fuxing bullet trains will be increased to 21 sets from the present 15 sets. Suzhou North, Wuxi and Lianyungang has launched direct train service with Beijing for the first time, increasing the number of train stations linking up Beijing from 29 to 33. due to the rising demand in the north Jiangsu regions since the opening of high-speed trains, 16 bullet train sets will be added to the new schedule while 15 train sets will have the schedules adjusted to facilitate the travel between Shanghai and Nanjing.
