The Standing Committee of the 13th Provincial People's Congress opened its 24th meeting Tuesday in Nanjing.
Lou Qinjian, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, presided over the first plenary meeting.
Governor Wu Zhenglong attended the meeting to explain the appointment and removal of personnel.
Present at the meeting were deputy Directors of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress Li Xiaomin, Wang Yanwen, Chen Zhenning, Xu Zhongzi, Ma Qiulin, Xing Chunning, Liu Handong, Wei Guoqiang, Qu Futian and Secretary-General Chen Mengmeng.
Vice Governor Hu Guangjie, President of the Provincial Court Xia Daohu, and responsible comrades of the Provincial Supervision Committee and the Provincial Procuratorate attended the meeting as non-voting delegates.
Chen Mengmeng gave an explanation on the agenda and schedule of the meeting. The 3-and-a-half-day meeting includes 27 agenda items.
The meeting of directors of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, the Provincial Government, the Provincial Supervisory Committee, and the Provincial Procuratorate submitted to the meeting personnel appointment and removal cases.
Explanations were made by Lou Qinjian, Wu Zhenglong, Wang Changsong, director of the Provincial Supervision Committee, and leading officials of the Provincial Procuratorate.
Ma Qiulin made a report on behalf of the Law Enforcement Inspection Team of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress on the inspection of the implementation of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste.
The report stated that it is necessary to take the opportunity of law enforcement inspections to promote the better implementation of the principles of solid waste pollution prevention and control, reduction, resource utilization and harmlessness to ensure the full and effective implementation of the law.
Qu Futian made a report on behalf of the Law Enforcement Inspection Team of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress on the implementation of the "Decision of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress on Promoting and Ensuring the Construction of the Yangtze River Delta Eco-Green Integration Demonstration Zone".
The participants heard proposals concerning the draft version of Jiangsu Provincial Social Credit Regulations, the revised draft version of Jiangsu Provincial Letters and Visits Regulations, the revised draft version of Jiangsu Provincial Animal Epidemic Prevention Regulations, and the draft of the Jiangsu Province Anti-Domestic Violence Regulations.
The Meeting of Directors of the Standing Committee of Provincial People's Congress also heard reports on the decisions on the schedule for the election of the deputies to the legislatures at the provincial, prefecture and county levels.
