Jiangsu shores up defense line against virus spread

East China’s Jiangsu province has been mobilized to shore up the defense line against the spread of the covid-19 epidemic.

Jiangsu has temporarily closed many cultural tourism projects and scenic spots. Nanjing has suspended all outdoor parts of scenic spots. Yangzhou has suspended the opening of major scenic spots such as the Slender West Lake, Daming Temple, Ge Garden and He Garden. Hongze District of Huai'an and Xuyi County suspended all cultural and tourism projects.

Yangzhou-Taizhou International Airport has suspended all passenger flights. Jiangning district of Nanjing has suspended 116 bus lines. Five areas including Yangzhuang Street, Shuangqiao Street, Hanjiang District, have been adjusted to medium-risk areas. Meanwhile, Yangzhou has suspended all town and village buses line.

Nearly 3 million express mails arrive in Nanjing every day. Postal and courier companies transport express mails from foreign and domestic medium- and high-risk areas into the designated room for disinfection.

People in charge of the disinfection of the mails will undergo nucleic acid testing every 24 hours.

In the meantime, inspection sites have been posted on highways and express ways to check whether the drivers and passengers have green health code and nucleic acid testing report within 48 hours.
