East China’s Jiangsu province reported strong growth momentum in foreign investment from January to July with its scale of foreign investment continuing to lead the country, latest statistics show.
Jiangsu reported US$17.76 billion in actual use of foreign capital from January to July, a year-on-year increase of 30.1%, according to statistics from the Ministry of Commerce.
This growth is 31% higher than the same period in 2019, and a two-year average growth of 14.4%, accounting for 17.6% of the country's proportion, and continuing to rank first in the country.
From January to July, Jiangsu's manufacturing industry reported 5.44 billion US dollars in actual use of foreign capital, accounting for 30.6% of the province's actual use of foreign capital.
Foreign investment in computer communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing, special equipment manufacturing, and metal product industries increased by 7.7%, 87.8% and 213.6% year-on-year.
From January to July, Jiangsu reported an investment of US$13.18 billion from Hong Kong, a year-on-year increase of 38%, accounting for 74.2% of the province’s actual use of foreign capital. The actual use of foreign capital from Singapore and Germany increased by 101% and 35% respectively year-on-year, exceeding the province’s average growth rate.
