Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, demanded further efforts to carry out the series of important speeches and instructions given by General Secretary Xi Jinping on Jiangsu’s work, implement the spirit of the 10th Plenary Session of the 13th Provincial Party Committee, emancipate the mind, make reform and innovation for systematic advancement and strive to be at the forefront of the modernization drive. He made the remarks when going on an inspection tour recently in four southern Jiangsu cities Zhenjiang, Changzhou, Wuxi and Suzhou.
When visiting Shuitai Village, Gaozi Sub-Street, Zhenjiang City, Lou Qinjian inspected the villagers’ houses, farmland water conservancy, farmhouse restaurants and inquired in detail about the income increase of the village’s collective economy and the villagers.
He hoped that the village, on the basis of consolidating good ecological development, make vigorous development of rural characteristic industries, further increases the industrial intensity to enrich the people, and stimulates the vitality of rural revitalization.
Moujia Village, Zhenglu Town, Changzhou City is building a demonstration site for beautiful rural construction that integrates efficient agriculture and rural tourism.
Lou Qinjian said that the rural areas of southern Jiangsu should further strengthen the construction of grassroots organizations with party organizations as the core, improve the level of integrated development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries, broaden the channels to increase rural collective economy and increase farmers’ income, improve urban and rural basic public services, narrow the gap between urban and rural areas and promote the integrated development of urban and rural areas.
When visiting the home of Zhu Mingxing, a resident of Anzhen Sub-district in Wuxi City, Lou Qinjian had an in-depth discussion with grassroots officials and villager representatives on promoting the improvement of the housing conditions of farmers in southern Jiangsu.
Noting that southern Jiangsu and northern Jiangsu have different development foundations and different rural forms, Lou demanded further efforts to systematically plan the integration of urban and rural areas, industrial development, public services, ecological protection, and social governance in southern Jiangsu’s rural areas under the primary goal of modernization.
During his inspection to Changzhou Lanbao Company, an apparel design manufacturer, Lou Qinjian said that common prosperity is an important goal of socialist modernization, adding that the private economy has created 80% of jobs in the province and common prosperity is inseparable from the participation of private enterprises and private entrepreneurs.
He hoped that the private entrepreneurs in the province will further carry forward the entrepreneurial spirit, and while promoting the high-quality development of enterprises, they will better shoulder the social responsibility of promoting common prosperity.
When presiding over a symposium on the modernization drive in southern Jiangsu, Lou Qinjian said the southern Jiangsu region has made important contributions to the overall situation of national development, regional coordinated development, and poverty alleviation for a long time, reflecting the superiority of the socialist system.
Embarking on a new journey, the modernization of southern Jiangsu must represent the highest level of the country, benchmark against the world-class level, lead the future development direction, and walk in the forefront of the country, he said.
Lou Qinjian pointed out that to explore the modernization path in Southern Jiangsu, we must emancipate our minds and create new paths, set the course with Xi Jinping’s thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era to ensure that the modernization drive is always advancing in the right direction.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee asked the province to seek breakthroughs in reform and innovation, strive to break through bottleneck technologies, enhance corporate innovation capabilities, support talent innovation, seize the commanding heights of development in the reconstruction of the global industrial chain and supply chain, and shore up the advantages for modernization.
He also asked the officials in southern Jiangsu to keep politically-minded when making analysis of major problems encountered in research and development from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.
